METHOD 1 OF 5: PREPARE FOR REMOVAL

UNDERSTAND WHAT THE SIM CARD IS. A SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) Card contains all of the information associated with your iPhone. If you would like to change mobile devices, but you want to keep your existing information, you can remove the SIM card from your iPhone and insert it into another phone. You will need a paperclip to remove the SIM card. 2
PREPARE A PAPERCLIP. All iPhones and iPads that use SIM cards come with a SIM eject tool. This is a small metal tool that is inserted into the hole next to the SIM port to eject the card. If you can’t find your SIM eject tool, you can use a standard paperclip. Bend the paperclip so you can use one end, make it straight. OBTAIN THE CORRECT SIM CARD. The original iPhone and the iPhone 3G/S use a standard sized SIM card. 2
LOCATE THE SIM PORT. The original iPhone and the iPhone 3G/S have the SIM port located at the top of the phone, next to the Power button. 3
INSERT THE PAPERCLIP OR SIM EJECT TOOL. Insert the straight end into the hole next to the SIM port. Remove your SIM card from the tray. Be sure to reinsert the tray if you are sending your phone in for warranty service. METHOD 3 OF 5: REMOVE A SIM CARD ON AN IPHONE 4, 4S, 5

OBTAIN THE CORRECT SIM CARD. The iPhone 4 and 4S use a Micro SIM. The iPhone 5 uses a Nano SIM. 2
LOCATE THE SIM PORT. The iPhone 4, 4S, and 5 have the SIM port located on the right side of the phone, about halfway down. 3
INSERT THE PAPERCLIP OR SIM EJECT TOOL. Insert the straight end into the hole next to the SIM port. Remove your SIM card from the tray. Be sure to reinsert the tray if you are sending your phone in for warranty service. METHOD 4 OF 5: REMOVE A SIM CARD ON AN ORIGINAL IPAD

LOCATE THE SIM PORT. The iPad 2
/3/4 and Mini have the SIM port located on the left side towards the top. The port is slightly recessed and can be accessed by flipping the iPad around so the back is facing you. 3
INSERT THE PAPERCLIP OR SIM EJECT TOOL. Insert the straight end into the hole next to the SIM port at a 45° angle. Remove your SIM card from the tray.
