How to Unlock the Defiant Achievement in Half Life 2: 5 Steps

In Half Life 2, Gordon Freeman is all about giving power to the people, whether it's leading them on a gun raid through the sewers or taking it to the man in City 17. Or, in this case, showing a pesky guard how hard he can throw a soda can.
_Note - The Defiant achievement is a secret achievement in Half Life 2 (part of The Orange Box on the Xbox 360, although previously found on the PC and original Xbox) and is worth 5 gamerscore on the Xbox 360. It is awarded to the player for hitting the "trashcan cop" with his can in the Point Insertion level._
STEPS

LOCATE THE "TRASHCAN COP", A COMBINE SOLDIER WITH SERIOUS ATTITUDE; HE CAN BE FOUND IN POINT INSERTION BLOCKING YOUR PATH AFTER YOU HAVE FINISHED TALKING WITH BARNEY. You can't continue without confronting him, so you wont miss him.

PICK UP THE SODA CAN HE DROPS ON THE GROUND. He will tell you to pick it up and put it in the nearby trashcan; you can pick up the soda can by aiming at it with your crosshairs and pressing X on your Xbox 360 controller.

THROW THE SODA CAN AT THE SOLDIER INSTEAD OF DISPOSING OF IT AS REQUESTED. To throw the can, make sure you are still holding it before aiming your crosshairs at the soldier and pressing the Right Trigger. Make sure you aim precisely, as you will not get the achievement if you do not hit the soldier with the soda can.

RUN AWAY OR ACCEPT THE BEATING HE WILL UNLEASH ON YOU. You can't die yet, so his attacks wont hurt you. Relish this small victory for the free peoples of Earth.

CHECK YOUR XBOX 360 GAMERSCORE AND ACHIEVEMENT STATISTICS AND YOU WILL SEE THAT THE DEFIANT ACHIEVEMENT HAS BEEN UNLOCKED FOR

TIPS
TAKE NOTE - By unlocking the Defiant achievement, you will have missed the chance of getting the Submissive achievement, which is awarded for instead simply placing the soda can in the trashcan. To unlock the Submissive achievement, you will either have to reload a previous save or unlock it the next time you play the game from the beginning.
After the guard beats you, you will be able to pass him. Picking up the soda can will have no further effect.
WARNINGS
If you really want both the Defiant and Submissive achievements right away, make sure you remember to save your progress before entering the area.
